Colonel M T N JenningsCommanded 6th (Bermondsey) Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment from May 1955 to February 1958.

Michael Tuberville Nevill Jennings, known as 'Mike', was born on 23rd February 1916. He was educated at Uppingham and Cambridge University and was commissioned in The Queen's Royal Regiment as a University Candidate in August 1938. He served with the 2nd Battalion in England and the Middle East from 1938 to 1941. From 1941 he held several staff appointments including Brigade Major of 14th Infantry Brigade in India and Burma until 1951 when he was appointed 2 i/c of the 1st Battalion in Germany. From 1953 to 1955 he was GSO I at the Portuguese Staff College. From May 1955 to February 1958 he commanded 6th (Bermondsey) Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment. From May 1958 to January 1961 he was GSO I Defence Force, Hong Kong and from 1961 to 1964 he was Brigade Colonel of the Home Counties Brigade. After this he held appointments at the War Office and retired in 1972. He was Mentioned in Despatches twice in 1941 and once in 1945. He was made a CBE in 1969.

He died on 1st August 1982.
