Why did you join the regiment?
Well, I was a young man, I was after excitement I suppose or whatever you like to call it, I thought I was anyway.
Why did you choose this regiment?
Well to be quite honest about it, I asked to join a horse regiment, but they said they were all full up, and I looked up there where all the cap badges were and I thought this was a horse and I said yes that will do, and then of course I never saw a horse, it's a lamb!
