Regiment ships from the Isle of Wight for service in Spain under Peterborough. Cadiz.

2nd October

Vigo Bay.
Returns to England.

Germany and the Low Countries. Regiment serves in the defence of the fortress of Tongres in Flanders. Awarded the title “Royal”, and mottoes “Pristinae Virtutis Memor” and “Vel Exuviae Triumphant.” Many officers and men captured.
