The Huntingdonshire Salt.
This piece of silver was not presented until 1911 to the 1st Bn The East Surrey Regiment. Newly commissed officers' on joining the battalion at their first Dinner Night were invited to "take salt" with the Regiment. They afterwards signed the Salt Book.
The Silver Salt spoon, which in an integral part of the piece, bears The Royal Cypher of Queen Anne.
