a result of the Cardwell Reforms the 31st Regiment became the
1st Bn The East Surrey Regiment and The 70th Regiment the 2nd
Battalion The East Surrey Regiment c1881. The title of The Queen’s
Royal Regiment remained unchanged at this time. |
