Battle Honours of the World Wars

After the Great War, ten Battle Honours were selected under Army Order 55 of 1925, reflecting the service of all battalions in all theatres of operations, for addition to the King’s Colours of all Regular and Territorial battalions of the Regiment, borne on the arms of the cross of St George. These were:

YPRES 1915, 1917, 1918 LOOS
SOMME 1916 1918   ALBERT 1916
CAMBRAI 1917   SELLE
DOIRAN 1918

After the Second World War, a similar exercise was undertaken under Army Order 72 of 1957, however these honours were never physically emblazoned onto the Colours themselves before the Regiment amalgamated with The Queen’s. These Honours were:
