Lt Colonel C J FalkCommanded 2/7th Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment from May 1939 to February 1940.

Cecil Joseph Falk was commissioned in 3rd Bn (Militia) Duke of Edinburgh's Wiltshire Regiment in September 1916. He served in France and Belgium and was awarded the Military Cross for gallantry in November 1918.

After the armistice he served in Egypt in 2/8th Bn The Worcestershire Regiment and was demobilised in 1920.

In 1921 he joined 5th Bn The Manchester Regiment (TA) and from 1934 to 1938 commanded that Battalion.

In May 1939 he was appointed to command 2/7th Bn The Queen's Royal Regiment but in February 1940 reverted to the rank of major at his own request and after other appointments became second-in-command of the 30th Battalion.

For his service in the Territorial Army he was awarded 4 clasps to the TD.
